Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lt. General Osama Askar returned to Egypt on Thursday after a visit to Turkey where he discussed security and military cooperation as well as visited defence companies including Bayraktar Defense, the Egyptian Armed Forces announced
Askar met with his Turkish counterpart General Metin Gürak to discuss boosting military and security cooperation
The two sides also discussed regional and international crises that have impacted their countries' national security.
Askar also met with Turkish Defence Minister Yaşar Güler who lauded Egypt's pivotal role in the Middle East.
He also met with the head of the Turkish Defense Industries Authority and toured several defence companies, chief among them Bayratkar Defense, which specializes in combat drones.
In February, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that Turkey agreed to provide combat drones to Egypt.
